Located northwest of Johannesburg, the Pilanesberg Game Reserve lies inside a 1300 million-year-old extinct volcanic complex and offers a wide variety of beautiful landscapes featuring grasslands, wooded valleys and unique rock formations. Pilanesberg is home to a great diversity of plants and animals including the Big Five and over 360 species of bird. It has some great game drives for both day-trippers and visitors staying in the various camps.
