Very early in the morning set off and transfer to the park to catch up with briefing and then head out for gorilla trekking in Volcano National Park. Normally it takes between 2 - 4 hours to encounter the mountain gorillas in the jungle. The park was established in 1925, after Mountain Gorillas were discovered for the very first time, and was the first ever national park in Africa. Now as then, few experiences match that of coming face to face with a mountain gorilla as it gnaws on bamboo shoots; in fact, it is probably one of Africa’s indisputable travel highlights. After the face to face experience with the mountain gorillas in the wilderness return to the lodge for lunch. Later in the evening, relax at the balcony of your room in the evening or visit the local community or take an excursion to explore the beautiful lakes in the region (Lake Bulera and Ruhondo). Enjoy a hearty breakfast and then leave Volcanoes National Park for Rubavu/Gisenyi. Gisenyi is a pretty town located on the shores of Lake Kivu, Rwanda's main water body. Relax and enjoy beach activities like sport fishing, boating and swimming. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel or Cormoran Lodge or Hotel Paradis Malahide

After having breakfast, leave Gisenyi. Proceed to Nyanza and visit the royal palace of the Mwami (traditional king of Rwanda). An onsite story teller will narrate the facts on the pre-colonial kingdom's history. From Nyanza, drive to Butare and visit the national cultural museum. Have lunch after which you will drive to Gikongoro to tour the Murambi genocide memorial. Proceed to Nyungwe National Park. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge

Have an early breakfast after which you will proceed to the park headquarters. A park official will brief you shortly after which you will go on a primates' walk in Cyamudongo Forest. This trek can take long between 1-6 hours depending on the movement of the primates. It is advisable to carry plenty of water and a picnic lunch on this walk. This walk will reward you with sights of large troops of colobus monkey and chimpanzees. Later in the afternoon, we will go for a canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park for a chance to see the forest canopy as well as the surrounding tea plantations. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge

This morning, we will depart early and drive back to Kigali OR transfer to Kamembe Airport (1hr) for a domestic flight back to Kigali. We will have an afternoon at leisure or take a walk visiting (on Own) and shopping. Dinner and Overnight at Kigali Serena or Radisson Blu or similar

After breakfast at the hotel, we leave Kigali and d rive (3hrs) to Akagera National Park located along Rwanda-Tanzania border. We will have lunch at the lodge, overlooking Lake Ihema, before proceeding on an afternoon game drive for sights of Burchell's Zebra, lions, elephants, topi, giraffes, impalas and over 425 species of birds including the African jacana, sacred ibis goliath heron. Dinner and overnight at Ruzizi Tented Camp or Akagera Game Lodge

Rise early for a game drive to catch the early risers that you might have missed yesterday. Have midmorning breakfast, followed by lunch. In the late afternoon, have a boat trip on Lake Ihema. View large pods of hippo, huge Nile crocodiles and numerous water birds. Dinner and overnight at Ruzizi Tented Camp or Akagera Game Lodge

This morning, we will have game drive out of the park en route back to Kigali. We will have hunch in Kigali and then transfer to the airport for your international flight out. Tour Ends
