Maasai Experience

Includes a talk in camp on the life of the Maasai by a local Maasai experienced in their culture. He will provide a genuine insight into the lives of Maasai and offer you a chance to question him on their traditions and culture. It’s a great experience, providing, valuable and authentic insight into the lives and values of this iconic nomadic tribe. The experience concludes with a display of Maasai dancing by a group of Morani (warriors).

Crater View Walk – Minimum 2 pax – Maximum 6 pax

An educational and interactive walk along the edge of the Crater with a Ranger and Maasai guide. Learn about the uses of the flora and fauna in the daily lives of the local Maasai spot wildlife tracks and experience the fresh outdoors of the Ngorongoro Highlands. Walk lasts about 1 112 hours and is available in the late afternoon from 1600 hrs.

African Themed Evening – Minimum 4 pax

Includes sundowners and cocktails by the camp fire, a talk on the MaasaL Maasai dancing followed by a traditional African BBQ known locally as ‘Nyama Choma’ consisting of chicken, beef and tender goat, and a selection of typical African dishes. Guests will be ‘loaned’ Kangas/Kikois and Maasai Shukas in order to take part in a traditional ‘ngoma’ or drum session at the end of their meal.

Maasai Boma Visit – Minimum 2 pax

Experience a traditional Maasai Boma and see and experience their way of life. Experience what its like to live in one of their homes, what their homes are actually made of, what they eat and enjoy a welcome dance with their amazing vocal cords. Thistour is more about viewing their home You may watch or take part in a traditional dance. You are welcome to take pictures whilst in the Boma.
